Mayo’s All-Ireland triumph inspires I Can See It Still
Thanks to The Connaught Telegraph for the recent feature on my new book, I Can See It Still: Across the Landscape of Mayo Football.
The article looks at how Mayo’s historic All-Ireland victory in July prompted me to reflect on more than five decades following the county’s footballing fortunes, from my earliest days as a supporter to my time as a journalist and communications manager with the senior team.
As I explained in the piece, I wanted to write about Mayo football from the various places I happened to be standing over the years. Sometimes that was on the terrace, sometimes in the press box or the dressing room.
And then 2026 happened. Suddenly, all those years that went before looked a little different. The book is my attempt to make sense of some of that, and to remember the people, places and moments along the way.
