A special night ahead at The Novel Bean, Swinford

I’m delighted to be the guest for the first-ever Writer Event at The Novel Bean in Swinford on Thursday, December 11, where I’ll be their inaugural Featured Author of the Month. The event starts at 7.30pm, and everyone is welcome.

It’s a real honour to bring my debut novel, On The Way Out, to a new local venue that’s quickly becoming a hub for readers and writers.

Winning the Gerald Griffin Award for First Original Adult Fiction 2025 has been a wonderful boost, and I’m looking forward to sharing the story behind the book – the observations, the characters, and the west of Ireland that shaped it.

To add a real local Swinford flavour, there will also be three local readers taking part on the night, which I’m very much looking forward to.

The evening will be informal and enjoyable. I’ll read from the novel, talk a little about the writing journey, and answer any questions people might have. I’ll also be signing books on the night. MC will be Ballinrobe John Culhane, who has a range of friends in the Swinford area, including our host, Cathal Kelly.
